New Brighton
Wirral Borough Council was determined to engage with their community early in their regeneration process – pre-masterplan – to ensure they rather than just being informed, they would have a voice and a choice in determining what would be built in their community.
Wirral wanted to showcase a few ideas to the community and we created a schools workshop to source ideas and then created a virtual reality event that engaged the community with possibilities.
Our experience took people on an open-bus tour through the community where different proposals were showcased and we asked attendees multiple-choice questions about their options as to what they would like to see in the different locations. The responses were fascinating: we learned that the public only fear the perception of tall buildings and higher-density. Seeing potential buildings in situ alayed people’s fears. How interesting.
