Seacombe

Wirral Local Authority takes engagement seriously. When Seacombe wanted to build a stronger relationship with their community as part of their regeneration plans, they came to us.

We created a series of school workshops with children of different ages, first asking them what they may want to see in their area and then creating a virtual reality experience which they pedalled through on a four-person pedalo without leaving their classroom.

We built a digital model of the area around their schools using a combination of pre-configured library buildings which meant it could be built-up on the day. The children found this incredibly fun.

Their teacher thanked us, “The children loved playing a part in shaping the regeneration of their area. They were excited when they saw the pedalo but even more excited when they saw their ideas come to life!”

We also ran the pedalo experience at a public building for three days. As well as being important engagement, it’s fabulous tapping into the creative energies of children. We often find that they are freer thinkers – and in turn their ideas inspire adults in a community.
