Cresswell and Shirebrook
We created a digital twin to showcase Bolsover District Council’s planned improvements to its infrastructure and services as part of the historic mining town’s housing expansion.
Our immersive and interactive tools helped our client engage with the community in a new and meaningful way, fostering greater understanding and support for the programme. The digital tools also increased accessibility for groups who find accessing public engagement events difficult as they could engage with the proposals online.
Our virtual reality hot air balloon experience enabled people to fly over the villages whilst a narrator celebrated the planned and community-proposed regeneration. Local feedback informed the council how concerned the community was about climate change and so the experience showed potential sites for solar farms.
The experience also highlighted rail connections, recent investment into their new Heritage and Wellbeing Centre and new housing which showed how this historic place was focused on the future.
