We’re working with our partners Wirral Council in October to help local people step into the future of New Brighton and Seacombe.
Our two new VR experiences showcase how young people have reimagined how local areas might look in the future. Wearing a virtual reality headset, visitors to events on 14 and 15 October will be able to take a virtual reality tour along New Brighton promenade on an open top bus led by a live tour guide. They will also see what the future Seacombe might look like as they travel along the waterfront in a virtual reality pedalo.
The VR experiences follow a series of sessions held with local schools earlier in the Summer to get younger people’s ideas on the future of New Brighton and Seacombe. We have then built these ideas into a 3D model to form part of the VR experience events.
The aim is to stimulate ideas and suggestions about reimagining New Brighton and Seacombe and making the most of their potential. It is part of a wider consultation on the future of New Brighton and Seacombe and what those who live, work, and visit them want to see there in the coming years.
The free VR events are part of Wirral Council’s aim to help set out a clear and shared vision to revitalise these areas and will be used to help develop future masterplans.
Our VR experience will work alongside more traditional forms of consultation and aims to reach out and involve as many people as possible, including younger people and others who are frequently less represented in other forms of engagement.
